Espion announces “breakthrough” in artificial intelligence

Scientists at Espion International have allegedly succeeded in “making a breakthrough in machine learning” that will allow computers to learn to recognize patterns and data without human interaction and in the face of incomplete information.

Using what Espion calls it, “smart learning,” an artificial intelligence (AI) system modifies its knowledge base and updates its code independently (!) from human interaction. This is important as AI gets the opportunity to evolve constantly by redefining the ruleset in its knowledge base. Thus, and in this, as follows from the official message, in fact, lies the “breakthrough”, a self-learning algorithm has been created that constantly reformulates and changes the set of rules, allowing AI to increase its effectiveness.

“The system ties new information to existing data, providing more efficient analysis and highly accurate results, even when the system receives incomplete datasets,” commented Muralidar Chakravarthi, Lead Specialist, Espion. “This is important because, unlike other AI systems, which lose speed as the base grows, our technology keeps the data set in a manageable size, which allows it to grow to more efficient levels.”.

The development was named “VersAI” – short for “Versatile AI”. Recall that the word Versatile can be translated as “universal, versatile, flexible”.

Self-learning algorithms have been around for days. Only practical implementation will allow us to assess how important the development is, whether a “breakthrough” has taken place, and what impact it can have on our life. Maybe, just in case, it is worth rereading Asimov, revising Terminator 2 and The Matrix?
